Recycle history 2012 - Переработай историю 2012 -  Recycler L’histoire 2012

Cyclists of Europe.......come and join us on a commemorative bike ride and cycle the route taken by The Grande Armee’ of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1812 when he attempted to defeat The Tsar Alexander 1st Of Russia. Be part of an assembly of cyclists riding in memory of the hundreds of thousands from both sides who suffered and died during that terrible conflict and take part in this act of remembrance to make that war into a new story....a story not of aggression and destruction but of friendship and welcome. All cyclists are welcome, from all countries of Europe. We would hope to see in particular Russian, Belarus, French, Lithuanian, Polish, German, Austrian, Italian and all other nationalities who were involved in that great event almost 200 years ago, we invite you all to take part in Recycle History 2012. The ride begins in Kaunus, Lithuania, on 19th August 2012 and finishes at Borodino, Russia on 2nd September 2012, in time to witness the anniversary of the battle which this year takes place on the 2nd September. We wish to commemorate all those who died, no matter what their origin. We welcome all to ride with us, from the four corners of Europe, from the towns and villages, coastlines and hillsides. From Lisbon to the Urals from Lombardy to the high arctic zones, please come and cycle in the great, beautiful heartlands of Russia, Belarus and Liuthuania ... to cycle and remember all who died in 1812, for they were all sons and daughters of Europe and they deserve to be remembered.
